A Cross at Hickory Hammock Baptist

River Resources is helping special groups produce these crosses for churches and other locations where they stand for a message of hope.  


This one is now standing in the lobby of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church in East Milton, Florida. 

THE CROSSES PROJECT

• 
  Frank Neibert is a WWII Veteran. Riverloggers.com  supplies him with cedar and crosses are formed in memory of his wife and in celebration of their faith.  The red cedar is selected from cuttings made by Riverloggers and cut to length.  Frank finishes the crosses. The photos shown here now are not yet sealed and waxed.   Still, the beauty of the cross is evident.

Red Cedar

A source of red cedar is now making it's way into lumber.  Fresh cut, the red is almost lavender but dries quickly to a beautiful red/brown that people like.

Cedars on the lot

About five of these loads of Cedars are arriving on the lot. Most of the expected lumber is already committed.  More river logjam juniper is expected in a week. The sawmill will be humming.
